Online Workshop: Writing on Art with Neha Kale
Join writer, critic and Art Guide editor-at-large Neha Kale for a one-hour workshop on the craft and possibilities of writing on art for publication. Shaped by Kale’s wide experience, this workshop includes examples and strategies for writing about art in a way that is accessible, compelling and invites readers into cultural conversations. Participants are also invited to learn new approaches to engaging with artists and artworks through prompts and writing exercises and are encouraged to bring questions about their own writing practice. Participants should bring note-taking materials as well as one example of Australian art that they are excited to think about in a critical or cultural context.
Writing on Art is a free workshop, aimed at early-career art and culture writers. It inaugurates the Art Guide New Writers’ Program, a year-long partnership with the Emerging Writers’ Festival, that creates opportunities for early career and emerging writers from around the country who are interested in writing about art and culture.
