Australia is to have its own national Poet Laureate in 2025. What will this mean – and who will it serve? Writers under 25 explore what a national poetry role could look like in this country – including questions around poetic responsibility, the place of the arts in civic and cultural life, and what it means to have a voice appointed to speak for and about us. From representation and responsibility to the politics of voice and visibility, these emerging poets ask big questions about who speaks for a nation, and why poetry still matters.
